With this Provocative Rhetoric, What Did You Expect?

By Bruce Ledewitz

At the National Conservatism Conference last week, they talked about “white genocide” and revenge on political enemies when they take power with a new Trump Administration. Meanwhile, I have heard people on the left talk about whether a military coup would be justified to prevent Trump taking power.

With this kind of stupid rhetoric, why not shoot your political enemies? Why not assassinate Donald Trump?

In a 2024 poll, 20% of Americans answered yes to the question, “Do Americans have to resort to violence to get the country back on track.” That was 28% of Republicans and 18% of Democrats. Very big numbers.

Our words have effects. So, let’s try reasoned discourse.
